How to book a municipal tennis court

The courts of the City of Athens operate inside ΟΠΑΝΔΑ's open sports centres (Ανοιχτά Αθλητικά Κέντρα). They are the cheapest in the area, but you must register as a member before you can book a slot — do not go straight to the court.

1. 1Pick a centre: Γουδή (Goudi), Άνω Πατήσια (Ano Patisia) or Ελληνορώσων (Ellinorosson) — all three have tennis courts.
2. 2Register as an ΟΠΑΝΔΑ member and have the annual card (ετήσια κάρτα μέλους) issued. Without it there is no booking.
3. 3Book a slot online through the municipality's platform, or by phone at the centre you picked.
4. 4Pay the usage fee (€10/hour) and keep the receipt together with your membership card.

Agia Paraskevi is one of the simplest cases: you book by phone, with no platform. The drawback is that the line only works during office hours.

2. 2Ask for a slot at the courts by the Νότου & Αιγαίου Πελάγους bus terminus, or at the Αθλητικό Κέντρο (sports centre) on Δαβάκη street.
3. 3Say whether you want floodlights — they cost €2 extra and you have to ask in advance.
4. 4Pay on the spot at the court before you play.

The municipality has three separate sites with tennis courts — Αθλητικό Κέντρο Παπάγου (Papagou Sports Centre), the Χολαργός facilities, and the recently upgraded court inside Μεγάλο Πάρκο Παπάγου (the Papagou Great Park). The last one also has a practice wall, useful if you are playing alone.

2. 2Book a court online or by phone — ΔΟΠΑΠ accepts both.
3. 3For Αθλητικό Κέντρο Παπάγου call 210 6543879; for Χολαργός call 210 6549033.
4. 4If you want organised classes rather than individual slots, ΔΟΠΑΠ runs its own tennis groups (τμήματα αντισφαίρισης) at Αθλητικό Κέντρο Παπάγου.

Chalandri has eight outdoor courts with facilities for basketball, volleyball, tennis and football. The new sports centre at Πάτημα, on Τήνου street next to the Πάρκο Κυκλοφοριακής Αγωγής (traffic education park), has been completely rebuilt with four modern open courts.

1. 1Contact whichever sports centre suits you — Παπαγιαννόπουλος in Κάτω Χαλάνδρι (Lower Chalandri) or Περκίζας.
2. 2Ask for the «Χρήση Γηπέδων Αντισφαίρισης» (use of tennis courts) procedure and the available slots.
3. 3Alternatively, email sportspap@halandri.gr with the time you want.

Pallini has the highest density of courts of any municipality in the area — 52 courts — but the overwhelming majority belong to private clubs. The municipal ones are few, and the main one is the 1ο Αθλητικό Κέντρο Γέρακα (1st Gerakas Sports Centre).

2. 2If you cannot get a slot, private clubs in Pallini rent courts to non-members too — look at Atlantis, Pallini Tennis Park and TAF.

Agios Dimitrios is one of the very few municipalities in Attica with real online booking for tennis: you book the court yourself, no phone calls. The catch is the precondition — you need an athlete's card (κάρτα αθλούμενου) with a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), and every one of your playing partners must hold the same card, otherwise the booking is cancelled.

1. 1Get an athlete's card (κάρτα αθλούμενου) first: application, ID, one photograph, a certificate of residence (βεβαίωση κατοικίας), a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) showing your ΑΜΚΑ (social security number), and the proof of payment — online at dad.gr or at the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού), Ειρήνης 17, 08:00–14:00.
2. 2Create an account at app.dad.gr and log in.
3. 3Click «Δημιουργία κράτησης σε αθλητική εγκατάσταση» (create a booking at a sports facility) and pick court, date and time.
4. 4Fill in the details of all your playing partners — 4 people for doubles, 2 for singles. If even one is missing or has no card, the booking is cancelled.
5. 5Watch the rules: two bookings a week, new slots open on Sunday after 21:00, cancellation up to 4 hours beforehand and only one cancellation every seven days. Take your ID — it is checked at the entrance.

Chaidari has seven outdoor municipal courts at the 1ο Αθλητικό Κέντρο (1st Sports Centre) inside the Δάσος Χαϊδαρίου (Chaidari forest), open until midnight. Booking is online, but first you have to go once to the office to be entered in the athletes' register (Μητρώο Αθλουμένων). The platform changed in October 2025 — the old CITIBILL link is no longer valid.

1. 1Get onto the athletes' register (Μητρώο Αθλουμένων): go to the tennis office (γραμματεία) at the 1ο Αθλητικό Κέντρο (Δάσος Χαϊδαρίου) with two photographs and proof of residence in Chaidari. If you are a registered resident (δημότης) but live elsewhere, bring a birth certificate (πιστοποιητικό γέννησης).
2. 2Register on the platform demos365haidari.intellisoft.gr.
3. 3Log in, pick court, date and time, and complete the booking.
4. 4For the coaching programme, or if something does not work, call the tennis office.

The municipal courts of Galatsi are inside Άλσος Βεΐκου (the Veikou grove) — six renovated courts plus one with a wall for practising on your own. Booking is by phone. You can also play without a membership, but the court costs double.

2. 2If you want to become a member, gather the supporting documents: a cardiologist's certificate (βεβαίωση καρδιολόγου), ID, your ΑΜΚΑ (social security number) and ΑΦΜ (tax number), and a recent utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ) in your name.
3. 3Pay the membership into a municipal bank account or at the Town Hall cash desk (Ταμείο Δημαρχείου, 1st floor, 08:30–13:30, debit card only) and keep the receipt.
4. 4Book a court by phone: €10 an hour as a member, €20 without a membership. As a non-member you do not need a medical certificate, only a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση).
5. 5If you need to cancel, give at least 24 hours' notice so the booking can be moved.

Kifisia has the most municipal courts in the northern suburbs, spread across Κάτω Κηφισιά, Αλώνια, Νέα Ερυθραία, Εκάλη and the Δημοτικό Στάδιο «Ι. Ζηρινής» (municipal stadium). Booking is done exclusively online and the only paper you need is a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση). The annoying part: the municipality publishes prices nowhere, so you do not know what you will pay before you register.

1. 1Go to demos365kifisia.intellisoft.gr and fill in «Αίτηση Εγγραφής Νέου Χρήστη» (new user registration) — do not use Greek characters in your password.
2. 2Confirm the registration from the email you receive (check your spam folder too) and log in.
3. 3Download the solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση) from «Χρήσιμα Έγγραφα» (useful documents), sign it and upload it — it is the only document required to book a court.
4. 4Select «Κρατήσεις Γηπέδων» (court bookings) and pick court, day and time within the rental hours.
5. 5For a coaching group rather than a plain booking, call your local court first and then submit «Αίτηση Συμμετοχής σε πρόγραμμα» (application to join a programme).

In 3Β municipal tennis takes place at the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο Βουλιαγμένης (Vouliagmeni municipal sports centre), with children's and adults' groups twice a week and a very low subscription that applies to non-residents too. What is particular here is that you do not book on your own: you speak to the coach first so he can place you at the right level, and then you complete the registration. No hourly rental for free play is published.

1. 1Call the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) first (213 2020771 or 213 2020714, Mon–Fri 09:00–14:00) — in tennis the coach places you in the group for your level.
2. 2Once the group is found, register online at membro2vvv.tcloudapp.net; applications are handled in order of priority all year round.
3. 3Upload a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) from a cardiologist or a general physician and, if you are a registered resident (δημότης) or a resident, a family status certificate (πιστοποιητικό οικογενειακής κατάστασης) or a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ).
4. 4Pay the €5 annual registration and the monthly subscription through the platform — you can pay several months in advance.
5. 5If you fall into an exempt category (unemployed, ΕΕΕ (minimum guaranteed income) recipient, ΚΑΠΗ (municipal day centre for older people) member, student up to 26, parent of a large family, single-parent family, disability over 67%), attach the supporting document and you pay no subscription.

Saronikos has municipal courts in Καλύβια and one on the beach of Άγιος Νικόλαος in Λαγονήσι, but the municipality publishes no procedure, no prices and no opening hours. Its sports page is essentially a list of clubs. In practice the only number that works for a player is the coach of the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Σαρωνικού (Saronikos tennis club).

1. 1Call the Saronikos town hall (Δημαρχείο Σαρωνικού) on 2299 320300 or «Αριστόδικος» on 22993 20323 and ask for the sports office for availability and the fee — the municipality publishes none of this.
2. 2For the courts in Λαγονήσι call the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Σαρωνικού on 6974 436406; it uses the municipal court and is in practice the easiest route into a group.
3. 3If you want a group, ask about days and level: lessons run from 15 September to 30 June, but registrations are taken all year round.
4. 4Ask explicitly which supporting documents (δικαιολογητικά) are needed before you go, because no list is published.

Acharnes runs tennis groups through the «Άθληση για Όλους» (Sport for All) programmes, at a single site: the courts at Ελ. Φυτά 5. The timetable is dense, Monday to Friday 16:30–21:30, and the cost is among the lowest in Attica. The catch is that there is no online procedure at all: you have to go to the office yourself during morning hours.

1. 1Go to the Culture & Sports Directorate, Δημ. Βαρελά 3 & Θερμοπυλών 7 (the old ΔΕΗ building), weekdays 09:00–14:00, or call 210 2400850.
2. 2Pick a group: lessons run Mon–Fri 16:30–21:30 at the courts on Ελ. Φυτά 5, split into primary-school, teenage and adult, beginner and advanced.
3. 3Pay the €5 registration and the monthly subscription.
4. 4For information outside morning hours, call the Κλειστό «Μπάμπης Χολίδης» (indoor hall) 14:00–20:00.
5. 5The programmes start on 1 October; ask at the office which medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) you will need.

Marousi is the only one of the large municipalities that publishes a clear hourly rental price: €10 an hour for a pair with floodlights, €8 without. The courts are in the complex of the Δημοτικό Κολυμβητήριο «Μιχάλης Μανιός» (municipal swimming pool). The trap is the rulebook: without a valid membership card (κάρτα μέλους, €20 one-off, with a medical certificate and two photographs) they will not even give you a court — and you collect the key and return it every single time.

1. 1Download the «Αίτηση Συμμετοχής Αθλούμενου» (athlete participation application) from the sports page and fill it in — you need a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) countersigned on the back, 2 photographs and proof of residence.
2. 2Hand it in at the office of the Δημοτικό Κολυμβητήριο and pay €20 one-off for the membership card — without a valid card they will not give you a court.
3. 3If you want lessons, sign up for a group and pay the monthly subscription in the first ten days of each month.
4. 4If you simply want to play, book a court and pay before use: €10 an hour with floodlights, €8 without.
5. 5Collect the court key from the office and return it as soon as you finish.

Filothei-Psychiko is one of the most transparent municipalities on tennis: the pricing policy is posted on Διαύγεια (the government transparency portal) and expressly provides a «court use» subscription for anyone who just wants to play. Everything is done online, and for simple court use you only need a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση) and proof of residence — a medical certificate is asked for only for a coaching group. The municipal groups play on the courts on Καλαβρύτων street in Νέο Ψυχικό.

1. 1Go to demos365.philothei-psychiko.gov.gr, register as a user and create a profile.
2. 2If you simply want to play, select «Χρήση γηπέδου τένις από ενήλικες» (adult tennis court use) and upload just two documents: a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση) and proof of residence.
3. 3If you want lessons, select a coaching group and upload a medical certificate (ιατρική γνωμάτευση) as well.
4. 4Pay the subscription through the platform; if you pay a year in advance by the 15th of the preceding month you get a discount.
5. 5For times and levels, call the office or the coach directly.

In Rafina there are five municipal tennis courts, at the site called Οχυρό in a pine-covered area, managed under concession by the Σύλλογος Αντισφαίρισης Ραφήνας (Rafina tennis club). There are also courts in Καλλιτεχνούπολη, granted to the local sports club. The convenient part is that booking takes one phone call; the annoying part is that the municipality publishes neither price nor opening hours, and the links its website gives do not work.

1. 1Call the office of the Σύλλογος Αντισφαίρισης Ραφήνας on 2294026418. Under a concession from the municipality the club manages the five municipal courts at the site called Οχυρό and keeps the court book.
2. 2Ask for a slot from the day before. The operating rules signed by the club and the municipality provide for bookings on the previous afternoon, 17:00-21:00, while weekend bookings must be made by Friday.
3. 3Go to the courts, Οχυρού 10 in Rafina, at the time of your booking. Club staff open and close the courts and record your name, the date and the time you arrive.
4. 4If Καλλιτεχνούπολη suits you better, call the Α.Ο. Καλλιτεχνούπολης on 6973982364 for the courts on Καλλιτεχνών street, which are also granted by the municipality.
5. 5For concessions, complaints or faults, call the switchboard on 2294321001 and ask for the Culture and Sports Directorate.

The Municipality of Marathonas advertises «modern tennis courts» at the Πολιτιστικό και Αθλητικό Πάρκο (Culture and Sports Park) in Νέα Μάκρη, but that is all it publishes: no number of courts, no opening hours, no price, no way to book. The only practical route is to call the Sports Office and ask.

1. 1Call the Sports Office (Γραφείο Αθλητισμού) on 2294320534 or 2294320559 and ask about availability at the municipal tennis courts. The municipality has no published booking procedure, so the telephone is the only way.
2. 2If nobody answers, email gr.athl.mar@gmail.com or drop in at the office, Λεωφ. Μαραθώνος 104 in Νέα Μάκρη.
3. 3The courts are in the Πολιτιστικό και Αθλητικό Πάρκο Νέας Μάκρης, Λεωφ. Μαραθώνος 196. Go there in person to see whether they are free, because the municipality posts no usage schedule.
4. 4Ignore anything you find about kedmarathon.gr: the website of the old municipal enterprise, which had a separate page for the tennis courts, no longer belongs to the municipality and the domain is for sale.

Ilioupoli has one of the largest municipal tennis centres in Attica, at Πανόραμα: five clay courts, four green set, one mini tennis, a gym and a café. The municipality runs it with organised coaching groups and publishes its prices clearly. The annoying part is that you first have to find the coach in charge so he can place you in a group, and that there is no published way to book a court on its own for an hour.

1. 1Pick a group from the timetables the municipality publishes for adults or teenagers, by level: beginner, intermediate or advanced.
2. 2Contact the physical education teacher in charge first, through the Sports Directorate on 2109922899 or 2109944001. He decides which group your level fits, and only then is the registration made.
3. 3Go to the office with your supporting documents and pay the registration and the monthly subscription by card at the POS terminals. The municipality does not accept cash for the groups.
4. 4Train at the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Αντισφαίρισης Πανοράματος (Panorama tennis centre), Αγγέλου Έβερτ 1 and Δαμασκηνού in Άνω Ηλιούπολη.

Glyfada has among the most municipal tennis courts in Attica: five at the 5ο Δημοτικό Στάδιο (5th municipal stadium), two at the ΔΑΚ «Μάκης Λιούγκας» and one each at the 2ο and 7ο Στάδιο. The municipality's coaching programme is among the cheapest you will find, €5 a month for registered residents. For simple court rental the only published option is the two courts at the Γκολφ (the golf course), which also belongs to the municipality — but no price is given there either.

1. 1For the municipal tennis programme, call the Culture, Sport and Youth Department on 2108943800 and ask about an available slot at the ΔΑΚ or the Διασχολικό Κέντρο.
2. 2Ask for the registration form over the phone: the download link on the municipality's tennis page is broken.
3. 3Submit the form together with a medical certificate (ιατρική γνωμάτευση) from a general physician or cardiologist and proof of residence. Without an original medical certificate valid for the current sporting year you are not allowed in.
4. 4Pay the monthly subscription, €5 as a registered resident (δημότης) of Glyfada or €25 as a non-resident (ετεροδημότης).
5. 5If you want plain court rental and not lessons, call Γκολφ Γλυφάδας, the municipal enterprise, on 2108946820 between 08:00 and 16:00. It has two tennis courts for rent at Τέρμα Κωνσταντίνου Καραμανλή.

Koropi, officially Δήμος Κρωπίας, has no municipal tennis courts that you can book. The municipality's list of sports facilities includes a stadium, indoor halls and football pitches, and only one small multi-use court with tennis for young children. If you want to play tennis here, the practical destination is the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Κορωπίου (Koropi tennis club), which is a private club with its own subscriptions.

1. 1Do not look for a municipal tennis court to book: the official list of sports facilities of the Δήμος Κρωπίας does not include any tennis courts for public use.
2. 2The only municipal court with tennis is a small multi-use one, for basketball, handball and tennis for young children, at the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο «Γ.Σ. Παπασιδέρης». It is free to use, with no booking and no charge.
3. 3For organised tennis, call the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Κορωπίου on 2106620329. It has four outdoor courts and two indoor mini tennis courts, but it is a private club and not a municipal facility.
4. 4For anything concerning municipal sports venues or concessions, call 2132000744 or the municipal switchboard on 2132000700.

Alimos has the most organised booking system without a platform that you will come across: four municipal courts, registration by email with a personal code, and fixed booking hours with priority for registered residents on Thursday. The two newer courts, the «Μπλε» (Blue), were delivered in January 2024 on the Πανί hill. The annoying part is that you have to catch a three-hour window a week on the telephone, and that nowhere does it say whether you are charged.

1. 1Download the registration form from the municipality's tennis courts page and fill it in. It is at the same time a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση) that you are in good health and that you are not a professional tennis coach.
2. 2Send the completed form with the supporting documents to alimos.gipeda@gmail.com. Within two days you will receive a reply email with your personal booking code.
3. 3Call 2109942500 giving only your personal code. Registered residents (δημότες) and residents of Alimos book every Thursday 09:30-12:30, everyone else every Friday 09:30-12:30, for the following week and up to twice a week per code.
4. 4Go to the court at the time of your booking with your ID or your resident card (κάρτα δημότη). Your details are checked on the spot.

Piraeus has two municipal outdoor tennis courts at the Βοτσαλάκια beach, next to the Καστέλλα municipal swimming pool, and two more at Πλατεία Οινουσών which are used by the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Πειραιά (Piraeus tennis club) for training and matches. In practice access is through the coaching groups of the «Άθληση για Όλους» (Sport for All) programme, with registration at the swimming pool office. There is no online platform and the municipality publishes no prices or opening hours.

1. 1Go to the office of the Δημοτικό Κολυμβητήριο «Ανδρέας Γαρύφαλλος» (municipal swimming pool), Καραγεώργη Σερβίας 6 in Βοτσαλάκια, or call 2104136355. There is no online court booking.
2. 2Ask for the «Εκμάθηση Τένις» (tennis coaching) group of the Άθληση για Όλους programmes. Tennis is offered for adults aged 18-65 and for children aged 6-12, on the open court at the beach.
3. 3Register at the office. Registrations are taken all year round and lessons are two or three times a week.
4. 4Ask on the phone about the current fee and about whether a court is available for free play outside the groups: the municipality does not publish either.

Palaio Faliro has the most complete booking system in Attica: ten municipal tennis courts, three at the «Ιωάννης Χρυσάφης» complex, four in the indoor «Σοφία Μπεφόν» hall and three on Ι. Φιξ street, all booked online only. You log in with TaxisNet (the national tax portal login) codes, you need no membership card and no medical certificate, and you pay online, €7 to €13 an hour. The only restriction is the cap of 7 hours a week per player.

1. 1Go to eservices.palaiofaliro.gr and click «Σύνδεση» (Log in).
2. 2Log in with your TaxisNet (the national tax portal login) codes and complete registration. No membership sign-up and no visit to the sports facility is required.
3. 3Select the «Κρατήσεις Τέννις» (Tennis Bookings) tab and click «Νέα Κράτηση» (New Booking).
4. 4Choose, in this order, time, day, court and booking period from what is available, and accept the terms of use.
5. 5Click «Πληρωμή και Κράτηση» (Pay and Book). Each player can book up to 7 hours a week. No money is refunded: if you cancel, the booking is moved to another slot.

The Municipality of Elliniko-Argyroupoli has municipal tennis courts, centred on the Α΄ Αθλητικό Κέντρο (First Sports Centre) at the junction of Λ. Κύπρου and Τριπόλεως, plus courts on Μιλήτου street. Access runs through the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού): you register online on the Demos365 platform with your ΑΜΚΑ (social security number), ΑΦΜ (tax number) and a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), and sign up for the tennis section. The annoying part is that the municipality publishes no prices, no opening hours and no way of booking an individual court.

1. 1Go to demos365ellinargyr.intellisoft.gr and submit a new-user registration request. Since September 2024, enrolment in the sports sections is done online only.
2. 2Enter your details. The platform requires your ΑΜΚΑ (social security number) for identification and your ΑΦΜ (tax number) for the transaction with the municipality.
3. 3Upload the documents: ID, a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) and proof of permanent residence.
4. 4Select the «Τένις» (Tennis) section and submit the application.
5. 5For free play outside the organised sections, call the office of the Sports Department (Γραμματεία Αθλητικού Τμήματος): the municipality publishes no times and no procedure.

Petroupoli is one of the few municipalities that gives its tennis courts entirely free to its registered residents (δημότες) and residents, by decision of the Municipal Council. The five courts are in the Άλσος Αγίου Δημητρίου (Agios Dimitrios park), at the facility run by Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Πετρούπολης. The awkward part is that you need two visits: first to the Δημοτικό Κολυμβητήριο (Municipal Swimming Pool) for the Κάρτα Αθλουμένου (athlete's card), then to the club's office for the access code. After that you book online, two one-hour slots a week, and pay nothing.

1. 1Go to the office of the Δημοτικό Κολυμβητήριο (Municipal Swimming Pool) to have a Κάρτα Αθλουμένου (athlete's card) issued. Registrations are taken Monday to Friday 10:00-13:00 and 15:00-20:00.
2. 2Take with you a certificate from a cardiologist or general physician, a photocopy of a ΔΕΗ (electricity) or ΕΥΔΑΠ (water) bill, your ID and a solemn declaration under Law 1599/86 (υπεύθυνη δήλωση Ν.1599/86) accepting personal responsibility for exercising.
3. 3With the card in hand, go to the office of Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Πετρούπολης to collect the access code for the online booking app. The link is published nowhere; it is given only there.
4. 4Book a court online, on a weekly basis. You are entitled to two slots a week, one hour each and not consecutive.
5. 5Note that the courts are not available on match days. For the courts at the «Ποικίλο» complex, which are given free for one hour when clubs are not using them, call separately.

Ilion has three sites with municipal tennis courts: the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Ραδιοφωνίας, the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Παλατιανής and the stand-alone Γήπεδο Τένις Αλαμάνας in Άγιος Φανούριος, open 08:00-22:00 every day. The key to all of them is the membership card of the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού). But you cannot book the court yourself online: you phone the office for availability and the use is charged to your card number, without the municipality publishing what it costs.

1. 1Register as a member of the programmes of the Αυτοτελές Τμήμα Αθλητισμού (Independent Sports Department) and have a membership card (κάρτα μέλους) issued. It is a necessary precondition for access to every municipal sports facility.
2. 2Prepare the documents: a doctor's certificate (βεβαίωση ιατρού), a photocopy of your ID, your ΑΦΜ (tax number), two photographs and a document proving your home address.
3. 3Submit the application online through the municipality's Ψηφιακές Υπηρεσίες Αθλητισμού (Digital Sports Services). Support line 210 2691625, Monday to Friday 08:30-14:30.
4. 4To play on a specific court, contact the department office for availability and reserve the court for a specific time. The charge goes to your personal card number.
5. 5If you do not belong to a club, you can enter the facilities during the hours open to the public, by filling in a declaration that you are in good health.

Lavreotiki is one of the municipalities where tennis exists as infrastructure but not as a service. An open-air tennis court has been built at the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Κερατέας (Keratea Sports Centre), two more are under construction on block ΟΤ 195 in Keratea, and in June 2026 funding of €1,500,000 was approved for a padel and tennis complex at the Δημοτικό Στάδιο «Π. Βογιατζής» in Lavrio. The municipality, however, publishes no price, no opening hours and no way to book.

1. 1Call the Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο Λαυρίου (Lavrio indoor gym), the Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο Νεάπολης (Neapoli indoor gym) or the Δημαρχείο Κερατέας (Keratea town hall) and ask about using the municipal tennis courts. The municipality has published no booking procedure.
2. 2Do not look for tennis in the Προγράμματα Άθλησης για Όλους (Sport for All programmes): they cover only fitness, pilates, strength training, preparation for entrance exams and adapted sport.
3. 3Enrolment in the sports programmes is done in person only, at the Δημαρχείο Κερατέας 09:00-15:00 or at the two indoor gyms 09:00-21:00, first come first served. There is no online platform.
4. 4Follow the municipality's announcements about the two new tennis courts in Keratea and the padel and tennis complex in Lavrio.

The Municipality of Spata-Artemida has no municipal tennis courts, not one. The municipal facilities are the Δημοτικό Στάδιο Σπάτων, the Δεξαμενή and Γυαλού grounds, the Δημοτικό Γήπεδο και Γυμναστήριο Αρτέμιδος and the Κέντρο Θαλάσσιων Σπορ (water sports centre), and they cover football, basketball, volleyball and athletics. Anyone who wants to play tennis here has to turn to a private court or a neighbouring municipality.

1. 1Do not look for a municipal tennis court in Spata or Artemida: the municipality operates none. The municipal facilities cover football, basketball, volleyball and water sports.
2. 2If you want to confirm this or ask about future courts, call the municipality's switchboard and ask for the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού).
3. 3For tennis in the area you will need a private court or a neighbouring municipality. The nearest municipal site with tennis courts is the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο Αυλακίου in Πόρτο Ράφτη (Porto Rafti).

Oropos has three municipal tennis courts with hard surfaces and LED floodlights at the Στάδιο Σκάλας (Skala stadium), next to the new school complex, refurbished by the municipality's public-benefit enterprise. The annoying part is that the municipality publishes absolutely nothing about them: no price, no opening hours, no way to book. A large sports-facility renovation project is also running through 2026, so a phone call before you go is worth it.

1. 1Call Κ.Ε.Δ.Ω. on 2295032190. It is the municipality's public-benefit enterprise, which refurbished and runs the three tennis courts at the Στάδιο Σκάλας. Ask for availability and cost.
2. 2If nobody answers, call the municipality's switchboard and ask for the person responsible for the sports facilities.
3. 3For the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Καπανδριτίου (Kapandriti Sports Centre), call the Δημοτική Κοινότητα (local community office). Note that Kapandriti's official page mentions only an indoor gym, football and basketball: confirm by phone whether a tennis court is in operation.
4. 4Ask explicitly whether the court you want is open. A sports-facility reconstruction project of about €1.86 million is running through 2026 and includes tennis courts.

Markopoulo has the best tennis infrastructure in the eastern Mesogeia: six courts at the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο at Αυλάκι, Πόρτο Ράφτη. The facilities are municipal but are run by Α.Ε.ΠΟ.Ρ., an amateur club, and the good thing is that it hires courts to non-residents and non-members as well. The hours are published and clear, you need a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), but you will only learn the price on the phone.

1. 1Call the office on 2299078200 within opening hours, daily 17:00-21:30. Booking is by telephone only.
2. 2Say whether or not you are a registered resident (δημότης) of Markopoulo. Courts are hired to both, members and non-members.
3. 3Pick a time within the hire hours, which differ from day to day.
4. 4Prepare a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση): it is required to use the courts, and a template is available to download from the tennis section's page.
5. 5Go to the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο at Αυλάκι, Πόρτο Ράφτη and ask at the office for the exact hourly cost, because no price list is published.

In Paiania the tennis courts exist and are municipal, inside the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο along with the basketball, volleyball and football pitches. Confirmation comes from the municipality itself: during the centre's reconstruction in 2023 the original design was changed precisely so that the small tennis and basketball courts would not be destroyed. The problem is information: the municipality does not even have a sports page.

1. 1Call the Δημοτικό Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο Παιανίας (Paiania municipal indoor gym) directly on 2106640184. It is the number that actually answers for the facilities of the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο, where the outdoor tennis courts are.
2. 2Ask whether the tennis court is available for free use or whether you need an appointment, and what it costs. The municipality publishes neither.
3. 3If nobody answers, call the municipality's switchboard and ask for the person responsible for the sports facilities.
4. 4Do not rely on the municipality's website: there is no sports page and a search for «τένις» returns nothing.

Penteli has four municipal tennis courts in the Πάρκο Μοσχοπούλου (Moschopoulou park) in Μελίσσια (Melissia), with changing rooms and a waiting area. The important thing is that three of the four are leased to a private operator, while the municipality kept free use for its registered residents (δημότες) Monday to Friday 08:00-12:00, provided you have obtained a resident's sports card (αθλητική ταυτότητα δημότη). Outside that morning window you pay the operator, and the municipality publishes nowhere how much.

1. 1First obtain a resident's sports card (αθλητική ταυτότητα δημότη). Without it you have no free access to the tennis courts in Melissia.
2. 2Prepare two recent passport-type photographs and a health certificate from a cardiologist (πιστοποιητικό υγείας από καρδιολόγο), and hand them in at the municipality.
3. 3Call the Γραμμή του Δημότη (residents' line), Monday to Friday 07:30-15:30, and ask for the sports department to book a slot.
4. 4Book within the free window, Monday to Friday 08:00-12:00. Outside those hours three of the four courts are run by a private operator with his own price list.
5. 5Go to the Πάρκο Μοσχοπούλου, at the junction of Μοσχοπόλεως, Κορυτσάς and Πόγραδετς in Μελίσσια.

Aigina does not appear to have any municipal tennis courts. The municipality has a Deputy Mayor for Sport and a Municipal Committee for Sport, but the sports page on the official website is still under construction and the town hall's phone directory does not even list a sports office. The courts you will find on the island belong to a private club and to hotels, so you book directly with them.

1. 1Do not expect a municipal tennis court on Aigina: the municipality publishes none and its sports page is explicitly under construction.
2. 2If you want to ask officially, call the Δημαρχείο Αίγινας (Aigina town hall) and ask for the Αντιδημαρχία Αθλητισμού (Deputy Mayor's Office for Sport).
3. 3To play tennis on the island, go to a private court. Those operating on Aigina belong to a private club or to hotels and have their own terms and prices.
4. 4At hotel courts, access usually requires that you are staying there. Call first and ask whether they accept outside players.

In Peristeri the outdoor tennis courts are at Κρυστάλλη 49 and are run by the tennis section of Γ.Ο. Περιστερίου «Γ. Παλάσκας», although the municipality itself treats them as municipal. Booking is by telephone only and it is easy, as long as you call within opening hours. The annoying part is that the municipality publishes neither price nor procedure: the club's booking link is dead and you will only learn the cost on the phone.

1. 1Call 2105738824, the courts of Γ.Ο. Περιστερίου «Γ. Παλάσκας» at Κρυστάλλη 49. That is where the city's outdoor tennis courts are, and the municipality describes them as municipal.
2. 2Ask for availability within opening hours and ask what an hour costs, because no price list is published anywhere.
3. 3Do not rely on the club's «Κρατήσεις Γηπέδων» (Court Bookings) link: it leads to a platform that no longer works. Booking is by telephone only.
4. 4If you want a coaching group rather than a single hour, ask on the same number about the mass-participation sports groups for children aged 5-18 and for adults.

Lykovrysi-Pevki is one of the very few municipalities in Attica that publishes its entire price list: you know in advance that an hour costs €8 during the day and €12 under floodlights if you are a registered resident (δημότης). The court is outdoors, run directly by the municipality, and got new LED floodlights in 2024. The annoying part is that booking is by telephone only, inside a narrow 09:00-14:00 window, and the municipality never states the court's exact address.

1. 1Call 2106145455, Monday to Friday 09:00-14:00, or drop in at the office at Ελ. Βενιζέλου 15Α in Πεύκη (Pevki) and ask for a slot at the Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Τένις Πεύκης (Pevki Municipal Tennis Court).
2. 2Say whether you are a registered resident (δημότης) or a non-resident (ετεροδημότης) and what time you want, because the charge changes: €8/hour within the municipality during the day, €12/hour when floodlights are needed, and €10 or €15 respectively for people from outside the municipality.
3. 3If you want a coaching group and not a simple court hire, download the application form from the municipality's website and gather two photographs, a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ) or tax assessment notice (εκκαθαριστικό) as proof of residence, and a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση).
4. 4Hand in the documents in person or by email to sports@likovrisipefki.gr, with a solemn declaration (υπεύθυνη δήλωση) issued through gov.gr.
5. 5Pay the €5 membership card and the registration fee. The medical certificate is renewed every year.

Dionysos has seven municipal tennis courts, spread across Άνοιξη, Δροσιά, Διόνυσος, Κρυονέρι and Σταμάτα, and using them is free for registered residents (δημότες) without having to join a club. You book with one phone call to the Department of Education and Culture, in the morning. The annoying part is that the official announcement dates from 2020 and has never been updated, so it is worth confirming that the free arrangement still applies.

1. 1Call Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00 on 2106215104 or 6944622109 and say you want to play tennis on a municipal court.
2. 2Say which municipal community suits you, Άνοιξη, Δροσιά, Διόνυσος, Κρυονέρι or Σταμάτα, because that is where the seven courts are spread, and book a slot subject to availability.
3. 3You do not have to pay: use of the courts is free for registered residents (δημότες) by decision of the municipality, with no club membership.
4. 4Confirm on the phone that the arrangement still applies and ask for the hours of that particular court: the municipality's most recent announcement on the matter is from 2021.
5. 5If you want organised coaching rather than free play, go to one of the clubs based at those same courts: Αττικός Ήλιος in Άνοιξη, Άσσος Κρυονερίου, Α.Ο. Διονύσου, Νίκη Δροσιάς or Α.Ο. Σταμάτας.

Irakleio Attikis has its own tartan-surfaced tennis courts at Πράσινος Λόφος, a main and a practice court, refurbished by the municipality, and the lessons are given by municipal coaches, with around 130 people training every day. The price list is published and cheap: €10 registration and €20 a month for an adult resident. The annoying part is that everything is done on paper and in person, and registrations effectively open only at the beginning of September.

1. 1Call the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) or email athlitiko@iraklio.gr and ask about the tennis section. Lessons are held on the municipality's refurbished tartan courts with municipal coaches.
2. 2Get a medical fitness certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση καταλληλότητας), from a cardiologist or general physician if you are an adult and from a paediatrician for a child, and gather a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ) proving your address.
3. 3Hand in the application with the documents at the municipal gyms or at the Sports Department. Applications without documents are not accepted, and registrations open at the beginning of September.
4. 4Pay €10 registration and €20 a month for adult tennis if you are a resident, €25 if you are not. If you qualify for free participation, bring your tax assessment notice (εκκαθαριστικό) and the relevant card.
5. 5If you simply want to hire a court and not take a lesson, call the court at Πράσινος Λόφος directly, on working days 10:00-14:00.

Vrilissia has two municipal tennis courts, at Ολύμπου and Φλωρίνης and at Αναλήψεως and Δωδεκανήσου, and access to them is free, which is rare for Attica. The price is a recent medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) that you have to hand in at the Culture and Sport Service (Υπηρεσία Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού) and a phone call to book a slot. If you want an organised group, registration is done entirely online with TaxisNet (the national tax portal login) codes, but the municipality publishes nowhere what it costs.

1. 1Get a recent medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση). It is a necessary precondition for using the municipal sports sites in Vrilissia.
2. 2Hand the certificate in at the Υπηρεσία Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού (Culture and Sport Service), at the junction of Ολυμπιονικών and Σπύρου Λούη, before your first use.
3. 3Call 2108101510 and book a slot on the tennis court. At Ολύμπου, free use is Saturday and Sunday 09:00-13:00 and 17:30-21:30.
4. 4Play free of charge: the municipality does not charge for access to its sports sites.
5. 5If you want an organised tennis group rather than free use, log in to the municipality's Ηλεκτρονικές Υπηρεσίες (online services) with TaxisNet codes and submit the application online. Registrations usually open at the end of September.

Zografou has eight municipal tennis courts: three with a tartan surface and a practice wall at the Αθλητικό Κέντρο «Σωτήρης Πέτρουλας», and five more of international standard inside the 49-stremma park (about 4.9 hectares) at Γουδή (Goudi). The municipality states that the Goudi courts are used by residents too, not only by Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Γουδή. The annoying part is that it publishes absolutely nothing about how you book a slot, what it costs or when they are open.

1. 1Call the municipality's Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) or email athlitismos@zografou.gr and ask how the municipal tennis courts are allocated. The municipality publishes no booking procedure, so this is the starting point.
2. 2If you want the three tartan courts, call the Αθλητικό Κέντρο «Σωτήρης Πέτρουλας» directly and ask for availability and price.
3. 3If Goudi suits you better, call the Αθλητικό Συγκρότημα Γουδή for the five international-standard courts inside the park.
4. 4Before you go, check the municipality's announcements for closure periods: «Σωτήρης Πέτρουλας» typically closes for two weeks in August for maintenance.
5. 5Do not confuse the municipal courts with the tennis courts on Ηρώων Πολυτεχνείου: those belong to the gym of the ΕΜΠ (National Technical University of Athens) and are not municipal.

Aigaleo has two municipal tennis sites: two courts at the ΔΑΚ «Εύα Χριστοδούλου» and one on Εδέσσης street. At the time this guide is written both are closed for reconstruction, so the first phone call is compulsory. Even when they are working, the ΔΑΚ is given to the public only in the mornings and at weekends on application, while the afternoon hours are held by the two local clubs and the municipal groups.

1. 1Before you do anything, call 2105317380 and ask whether the courts have reopened: since June 2026 the Εδέσσης court and since July the ΔΑΚ court have been out of service for reconstruction, with no announced reopening date.
2. 2If you simply want to play, ask the Γραφείο Αθλητισμού (Sports Office) to submit a use application for the two ΔΑΚ courts at Σουλίου 40. They are given to the public only in the mornings and at weekends and only if an application has been made.
3. 3If you want lessons, sign up for the municipal tennis groups. Go to the office at Νικολάου Πλαστήρα 20, daily until 17:30, or send an email.
4. 4Take a medical certificate from a cardiologist (ιατρική βεβαίωση από καρδιολόγο) with you: it is compulsory for any enrolment in a municipal group.
5. 5Ask on the phone about the subscription and how to pay: the municipality publishes neither anywhere.

Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero is by far the best organised municipality in western Athens for tennis: five municipal sites with tennis courts and a published price, €10 an hour paid in advance. Everything goes through the Demos365 platform, so you need an account, uploaded documents and an online payment before you set foot on the court. The annoying part is that court opening hours are written down nowhere, nor which court is the one for hire.

1. 1Go to the municipality's Demos365 platform and register as a new user in the name of the person liable for payment. If you are registering a minor, enter your own details first and then add a new member.
2. 2Submit an application to join a programme and choose «Χρήση γηπέδου αντισφαίρισης» (Use of a tennis court) if you just want to play, or «Αντισφαίριση» (Tennis) if you want lessons.
3. 3Upload the documents the programme asks for and press submit. The application does not go through if even one is missing.
4. 4Wait for the approval email and pay online within two days from your user profile. The hire cost is paid in advance.
5. 5If you struggle with the platform, call 2132039982, 08:00-14:30, or go to the old Δημαρχείο Αγίων Αναργύρων (Agioi Anargyroi town hall).

Megara has one single municipal tennis court, outdoors, in the grounds of the «Αλέκος Σάλτας» indoor gym at Μοράβα 30, next to the municipal stadium. The municipality has published nothing about it: no opening hours, no price, no way to book, and the website of the former ΝΠΔΔ that described them has stopped working. In practice you telephone or you go there in person.

1. 1Call 2296025666, the number of the Δημοτικός Χώρος Άθλησης Μεγάρων at Μοράβα 30, where the only municipal tennis court is, and ask whether it is open and free.
2. 2Ask for the person in charge of the facility and ask whether you need an appointment and whether there is a charge.
3. 3If nobody answers, try the second line or the town hall and ask for the deputy mayor responsible for sport.
4. 4Go to Μοράβα 30, behind the indoor gym, and ask the guard on the spot. The municipality has published no booking procedure, so seeing for yourself is the most reliable route.

Keratsini-Drapetsona has two municipal tennis courts open to the public and both are free, but neither can be played on without an appointment. For the Αθλητικό Πάρκο ΠΡΕΣΟΦ you email the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) inside a four-hour window each morning, while for the Πολυχώρος Λιπασμάτων in Drapetsona you telephone on Monday, Wednesday or Friday and give the names of everyone in your group. The main sting is the limit of two hours a week per group of four players.

1. 1Choose your court: ΠΡΕΣΟΦ at Γκιώνας 10 in Keratsini is booked by email, while the court inside the Πολυχώρος Λιπασμάτων in Drapetsona is booked by telephone only.
2. 2For ΠΡΕΣΟΦ, email athlitismos@keratsini.gr, Monday to Friday 09:00-13:00, asking for an appointment. Only the tennis court needs an appointment: the basketball and football in the same park are free to use.
3. 3For Λιπάσματα, call 2104324501, extension 316, Monday, Wednesday or Friday 10:00-13:00, and give your full name and those of all your fellow players, otherwise the booking is not registered.
4. 4Watch the limits at Λιπάσματα: up to 4 people per hour and two hours a week per group. The same names cannot be entered for a second day within the same week.
5. 5Arrive ten minutes early and carry your ID or driving licence: the guard may ask you for an identity document, and minors without one must be accompanied by a guardian.

Elefsina has no municipal tennis court: the municipality's official list of sports facilities records a stadium, indoor gyms and football pitches, no tennis court, and the municipal classes do not include tennis. The only tennis in town is played on the courts of the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Ελευσίνας «Αισχύλος» (Elefsina Tennis Club «Aeschylus»), which is a private club and not a municipal service.

1. 1Do not waste time looking for a municipal tennis court in Elefsina: the municipality's official list of sports facilities does not include one.
2. 2If you want to confirm this or ask about future plans, call the Culture and Sports Department (Διεύθυνση Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού) or email polath@elefsina.gr.
3. 3To play tennis in the town, contact the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Ελευσίνας «Αισχύλος», at the corner of Ηρώων Πολυτεχνείου and Επισμηναγού Νέζη. It is a private club, not a municipal facility, and charges its own fees.
4. 4If you are interested in the municipal sports programmes, which do not include tennis, register online on the Demos365 platform and upload your documents there.

In February 2025 Korydallos gained two brand-new tennis courts, in the grounds of the new bioclimatic swimming pool, and officially recognises them as municipal tennis courts. The problem is that a year and a half after the opening the municipality has published no hours, no price and no booking method, and tennis appears neither in the sports programmes nor on the registration platform.

1. 1Call the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού), Mon-Fri 09:00-14:00 or 17:00-21:00, and ask explicitly about the two tennis courts in the grounds of the new swimming pool.
2. 2Alternatively email athlitismos@korydallos.gr asking for the hours, any cost and the booking procedure. None of this is published.
3. 3Go to the Δημοτικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο, Σολωμού 2-4, which houses the registration office and where the courts themselves are, and ask in person.
4. 4Do not look for tennis on the municipality's online platform: it covers only registrations for programmes, the swimming pool and the summer camp, and tennis is not one of them.
5. 5If you are asked to register for a programme, you will need a doctor's certificate of fitness to exercise (βεβαίωση ιατρού ικανότητας άθλησης), proof that you are a registered resident or a resident, and one photograph.

On the πάροδος Δεμιρδεσίου, behind the 3rd Lykeio, there are four renovated hard courts. Three of them were granted by the municipality to the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Νέας Ιωνίας (Nea Ionia Tennis Club), which took on the rebuilding, maintenance, electricity, cleaning and security and gives registered residents a 50% discount; the fourth it kept for its own programmes. In practice you get onto the municipal court only by joining a class, while for pay-by-the-hour open play you go to the club.

1. 1Call 6972982558 to pre-register for the municipal tennis class and to be placed at a level. Pre-registration opens every September.
2. 2Go to the municipality's Demos365 platform, create an account, confirm your email and first complete your own profile: a minor cannot register alone.
3. 3Submit an application to join the class you were assigned to and upload your documents.
4. 4Go to the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού), Λ. Ηρακλείου 268, to pay the membership fee. Payment is in person only, not online.
5. 5If you simply want to play with friends at a time of your choosing, call the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Νέας Ιωνίας for the three granted courts on Δεμιρδεσίου. As a registered resident you pay half price.

The municipality runs tennis and mini tennis classes on the fully renovated municipal courts at the corner of Πλαστήρα and Λαχανά, in northern Nea Filadelfeia next to the Άλσος (the grove), even though the registration office is in Nea Chalkidona. The good part is that for adult registered residents use of the courts is free and the courts stay open until 22:00. The annoying part is that everything goes through an office open only 09:00-14:00, with no online registration or booking at all.

1. 1Call 2132026331, Mon-Fri 09:00-14:00, and ask about the tennis class you are interested in. There is no online registration.
2. 2Go to the municipal building, Ραιδεστού 21 in Nea Chalkidona, during the same hours, and fill in the application form: there is a separate form for children and for adults.
3. 3Submit a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ) or other proof of residence, and a family status certificate (πιστοποιητικό οικογενειακής κατάστασης).
4. 4Play on the municipal courts at Λαχανά and Πλαστήρα, Mon-Fri 16:00-22:00 and Sat 10:00-12:00. As an adult registered resident you have free use.

The Municipality of Metamorfosi has no municipal tennis court. The official list of sports facilities includes the municipal swimming pool, two indoor gyms, the inter-municipal football pitch, three 5-a-side pitches and two outdoor basketball courts, and nothing else. The Sport for All programme («Άθληση για Όλους») and the municipality's list of sports clubs make no mention of tennis anywhere.

1. 1Do not waste time looking for a court: the municipality's official list of sports facilities includes no tennis court, and neither does the price list for hiring facilities out to private users.
2. 2If you want to confirm this or ask about future plans, call the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) or email sports@metamorfossi.gov.gr.
3. 3For the other municipal sports programmes, submit your registration online on the municipality's Demos365 platform.

In Fyli, that is in Ano Liosia, Zefyri and Fyli, the municipality has no municipal tennis court. The Culture and Sports Department runs a swimming pool, gymnastics and basketball, with online registration through Demos365. The only tennis in the area is played at the Play Park on Αιγαίου Πελάγους, which belongs to a private company and is easily mistaken for a municipal facility because it is on the same street as the municipal sports services.

1. 1Do not expect a municipal tennis court: the sports activities the municipality publishes are swimming, gymnastics and basketball. No tennis class or court is mentioned anywhere.
2. 2Call the Culture and Sports Department (Διεύθυνση Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού), at Αιγαίου Πελάγους 1 inside the Πάρκο Πόλης in Ano Liosia, if you want to ask about using a school court or about future classes.
3. 3For whichever municipal sports programme interests you, open an account and register online on the Demos365 platform.
4. 4If you simply want to play tennis in Ano Liosia, the Play Park on Αιγαίου Πελάγους has tennis and 5-a-side courts, but it is a private business and not a municipal facility.

Aspropyrgos does have municipal tennis courts, inside the Μητροπολιτικό Πάρκο Θριασίου Πεδίου at Γκορυτσά, a 13-hectare park with twelve sports areas. The problem is that nowhere are hours, a price or a booking method published, and tennis does not appear at all in the municipal sports programmes. In practice you go to the park and play if you find the court free.

1. 1Go to the Μητροπολιτικό Πάρκο Γκορυτσάς, where the municipality built tennis courts alongside football, rugby, basketball and volleyball pitches. Entry to the park is free.
2. 2Before you go, call the Independent Sports Activities Office (Αυτοτελές Τμήμα Αθλητικών Δραστηριοτήτων) and ask whether the court is available that day: the municipality closes the park from time to time for school competitions.
3. 3Do not look for a tennis class: the municipal programmes cover athletics, adult gymnastics, crossfit, preparation for ΣΕΦΑΑ (the physical education university entrance exams) and swimming, not tennis.
4. 4If you want to sign up for one of those, go to the Α΄ ΚΑΠΗ building, Mon-Fri 09:00-13:00, with your documents and the €10 annual membership fee.

The Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia has no municipal tennis court. The official list of municipal sports facilities counts ten sites in Mandra, Vilia, Erythres, Oinoi and Psatha, that is indoor gyms, stadiums and 5-a-side pitches, and no tennis court. The municipality does not even publish a separate telephone number for sport.

1. 1Do not look for a municipal tennis court in Mandra, Vilia, Erythres, Oinoi or Psatha: the official list of municipal sports sites names ten facilities and none of them is a tennis court.
2. 2If you want to confirm this or ask about being granted use of a facility, call the Mandra town hall. The municipality does not publish a separate telephone number for sport.
3. 3For Vilia and Erythres, the respective local municipal offices answer.

The Sports Directorate runs the Γήπεδο Τένις Νεάπολης (Neapoli tennis court), which hosts both coaching and open tennis, with a published price list: €5 per hour per person for open play. The convenient part is that for tennis you do not need a medical certificate, only a membership card. The annoying part is that there is no online court booking and no hours are published, so the telephone is the only way.

1. 1If you just want to play, ask for «Ελεύθερη Αντισφαίριση» (Open Tennis) for adults: call the Sports Programmes Department (Τμήμα Αθλητικών Προγραμμάτων), Mon-Fri 08:00-20:30, and ask about times and availability at the Γήπεδο Τένις Νεάπολης.
2. 2Go by the Sports Programmes Department at the ΔΑΚ «Πλάτων» sports centre to have a membership card (κάρτα μέλους) issued. For open tennis a card is issued but no medical certificate is required: this is an explicit exemption in the regulations.
3. 3Pay the hourly fee of €5 per person. Fees are paid by card at the department's POS terminal or at the bank.
4. 4If you want lessons, first book a registration appointment on the online platform: registrations are made exclusively by scheduled appointment.
5. 5Show your membership card every time you enter the sports facility. Without it, access is not permitted.

The Municipality of Salamina does genuinely build and deliver its own tennis courts: four were opened in 2024 and a new one was delivered at Ψιλή Άμμος, on a plot of unused municipal land. The problem is that it stops there. The municipality announces the openings but publishes no address, no hours, no price and no booking method.

1. 1Call the Sports Directorate (Διεύθυνση Άθλησης) and ask which municipal tennis courts are currently open and whether an entry card is needed. The municipality publishes nothing in writing about the tennis courts.
2. 2Ask explicitly about the new court at Ψιλή Άμμος and about the four courts opened in May 2024, because the municipality has not published their addresses.
3. 3If you get nowhere, email athsup@salamina.gov.gr or call the town hall switchboard.
4. 4For lessons, ask for the contact details of the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Σαλαμίνας (Salamina Tennis Club): it is one of the clubs that work officially with the municipality on the programme of free participation for children aged 8-14 from vulnerable groups.
5. 5If you are a parent and meet the social criteria, submit an application to the municipality's registry office (πρωτόκολλο) for free monthly tennis participation for your child.

Poros is the clearest case of all: there is no municipal tennis court, and the municipality itself admits so in writing. It is one of the very few municipalities in the country that does not have a single municipal sports facility. The island's only tennis court is inside the naval base, which residents have used informally for some fifty years. In 2025 the municipality signed a memorandum with the Hellenic Navy on making the facilities available for use.

1. 1Do not look for a municipal tennis court on Poros: there is none. The municipality itself officially states that it does not have a single municipal sports facility.
2. 2The island's only tennis court is inside the Hellenic Navy base, in the eastern wing.
3. 3Call the Municipality of Poros and ask how entry to the sports facilities works today, following the memorandum of cooperation approved by the Municipal Council in 2025 on making them available to the municipality.
4. 4Also ask whether you need an entry permit from the base command: historically civilians entered on an ad hoc permit rather than under any standing arrangement.
5. 5Bear in mind that the municipality itself describes the facilities as ruined by poor maintenance, so ask explicitly whether the court is playable before you go.

Hydra gained its first Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Αντισφαίρισης (municipal tennis court) in June 2026, in the Αγία Φωτεινή area. It is genuinely municipal and, rare for an island of this size, the municipality has already published a full set of operating regulations with a specific booking procedure: 90-minute slots, up to six hours a week, prepayment by card and a compulsory athlete's card at the entrance. The only thing missing is the price.

1. 1Call the municipality's Sports Facilities Department (Τμήμα Αθλητικών Εγκαταστάσεων) and ask about an available slot at the new Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Αντισφαίρισης at Αγία Φωτεινή.
2. 2Book by one of the methods the regulations allow: online, by telephone, or in person by filling in an application with the responsible official. On the application you must state the names of all the players.
3. 3Prepay the fee at the municipal cash desks, through the POS terminal and only by debit or credit card. Without prepayment the booking is not confirmed.
4. 4Bring your athlete's card (κάρτα αθλούμενου) with you: entry and exit are strictly on presentation of it.
5. 5Note the restrictions: each booking is for 90 minutes and no more than six hours a week per user are allowed. If you do not turn up while the weather allows play, the money is not refunded and the booking is not transferred.

Spetses is the pleasant surprise among the islands: the municipality has its own Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Τένις (municipal tennis court) and a real online booking platform with an availability calendar. You can see the free hours, create an account and reserve an hourly slot yourself, from 07:00 to 22:00 with a break at midday. The weak point is that neither a price nor the court's address is published.

1. 1Go to the Municipality of Spetses online booking service and select «Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Τένις».
2. 2Create a user account: it is compulsory in order to reserve a slot, and no booking can be made without registering.
3. 3Choose a day and an hourly slot from the availability calendar and complete the booking. There is only one court, so each hour is taken by a single group.
4. 4If you cannot manage it online, call the Municipality of Spetses, Mon-Fri 08:00-15:00, or send an email and ask about the procedure and the cost.
5. 5Ask on the telephone exactly where the court is, because the municipality does not publish an address.

The Municipality of Troizinia-Methana has a tennis court of its own, at Λουτρόπολη Μεθάνων, which it completely rebuilt through the «Φιλόδημος ΙΙ» funding programme: a new acrylic surface, new equipment, repaired fencing and LED lighting. So it is modern and municipal. The annoying part is that the municipality has published absolutely nothing about how it operates.

1. 1The municipal tennis court is at Λουτρόπολη Μεθάνων, next to the basketball court. It was rebuilt with an elastomeric synthetic surface, new equipment and six new LED floodlights.
2. 2Call the Methana switchboard and ask whether the court is freely accessible or whether you need a key, a card or a booking. The municipality publishes nothing on this.
3. 3Ask specifically about using the floodlights in the evening, because the lights were installed during the rebuild but no operating hours for them are announced.
4. 4If the local office does not answer, call the main town hall in Galatas or send an email.

Nea Smyrni has one municipal tennis court, inside the sports complex of Ano Nea Smyrni next to the municipal swimming pool, and the municipality runs it mainly as a coaching programme for children, teenagers and adults. Registration is cheap and clear, €70 for the whole season and €30 for pupils and students. The annoying part is that for simple open play without registering, the municipality no longer publishes any hours or procedure.

1. 1Download the registration form, for adults or for children, from the municipality's «Τένις» (Tennis) page and fill it in.
2. 2Gather a recent certificate from a cardiologist or general physician and a family status certificate (πιστοποιητικό οικογενειακής κατάστασης) or a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ) showing that you are a registered resident or a resident of Nea Smyrni.
3. 3Submit the application online through the municipality's application system, by email to prwtokollo@neasmyrni.gr, or in person at the town hall registry office (Πρωτόκολλο), Mon-Fri 08:00-15:00.
4. 4Pay the fee at the municipality's cash office (Ειδική Ταμειακή) or by bank transfer, stating your full name, debtor code, amount and the period covered.
5. 5Call 2132025994 or 2132025969 to be assigned a class and a court time.

Kallithea does not do book-a-court-and-play: tennis here is an organised programme of the Sports Directorate, on the outdoor municipal courts at Σαλαμίνος 50, with classes from age 6 up to advanced adults and lessons running late into the evening. Registration is entirely online. The trick is timing: places fill within a few days, and the fee waivers that apply at the gyms do not apply to tennis.

1. 1Watch the municipality's website for the announcement that registration for the tennis classes has opened: it happens in phases, in September and January, and closes as soon as the places are filled, with priority for registered residents.
2. 2Open an account on the municipality's Demos365 platform, confirm your email and submit an application online. Registration in person is not possible.
3. 3Upload to your profile a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), a family status certificate (πιστοποιητικό οικογενειακής κατάστασης) and proof of residence. Applications with incomplete or expired documents are rejected.
4. 4Pay the fee into the municipality's bank account stating your full name, ΑΦΜ (tax number) and the programme, and upload the deposit slip to the platform. Avoid paying from an ATM.
5. 5Collect your membership card (κάρτα μέλους) and leave it with the coach at every lesson: without a valid card you are not allowed onto the court.

Kaisariani has a proper municipal Κέντρο Αντισφαίρισης (tennis centre) with three courts, two full size and one mini, at the old Σεβαστουπόλεως facilities, and the operating regulations state explicitly that individual members of the public can play free of charge during the hours not allocated to clubs. The practical problem is that the municipality posts neither the weekly schedule nor a price list.

1. 1Call the Municipality of Kaisariani and ask for the Office for the Planning and Development of Sports Activities (Γραφείο Προγραμματισμού και Ανάπτυξης Αθλητικών Δραστηριοτήτων), to find out which hours at the Κέντρο Αντισφαίρισης have not been allocated to clubs.
2. 2If you just want to play, access to the outdoor courts is free of charge during the unallocated hours. For indoor facilities you fill in an application-declaration (αίτηση-δήλωση) stating the facility and the exact day and time.
3. 3On the application, declare that you are in good health, that you enter at your own risk and that you have read the operating regulations. The responsible official checks availability and approves or rejects it.
4. 4For lessons and organised training, contact the Αθλητικός Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Καισαριανής (Kaisariani Tennis Club), the club that runs the courts.

Vyronas has one municipal tennis court, listed in the official catalogue as part of the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Καρέα (Karea Sports Centre), open every day 08:00-21:30. Players know it as «γήπεδο του Κουταλά» (the Koutalas court), because the Όμιλος Αντισφαίρισης Βύρωνα (Vyronas Tennis Club) is based there. The regulations require a written request to the Sports Department with a specific day and time, but neither a price nor online booking is published.

1. 1The municipal tennis court is at the Αθλητικό Κέντρο Καρέα, on Λεωφόρος Καρέα at Δάφνης, and is open Mon-Sun 08:00-21:30.
2. 2To reserve a slot, send a written request to the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) stating the facility and the exact day and time you want.
3. 3In the request, declare that you are in good health and fit to play sport, that you enter the site at your own risk and that you accept the operating regulations.
4. 4If you are asked for a membership card, prepare an application, a solemn declaration of health (υπεύθυνη δήλωση), a photocopy of your ID and one photograph.
5. 5Remember that the municipality's own programmes and recognised clubs have priority. Whatever hours are left over are made available to anyone interested.

In Dafni-Ymittos there is a municipal tennis court in the Άλσος Πέτρου και Παύλου (Petros and Pavlos grove), but the municipality does not advertise it at all: the official sports page mentions only the two indoor gyms and the swimming pool and never mentions tennis. In practice the court is run by the tennis section of the local club, which is granted use of the site. If you simply want to play on your own, there is no published way to do it.

1. 1Do not look for a booking system: the municipality publishes no procedure, price or opening hours for free use of the court in the Άλσος Πέτρου και Παύλου, and its sports page does not even mention tennis.
2. 2Call 2109719616, the Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο «Μιχάλης Μουρούτσος» (indoor gym), and ask whether there are any free hours on the court.
3. 3If a written request for use of the site is needed, send it to protokolo@dafni-ymittos.gov.gr. Grants of municipal sports facilities are approved by decision of the municipal bodies.
4. 4For lessons, sign up with the tennis section of the local sports club, which trains on the same court. Registration is done at the club office.

Moschato-Tavros is one of the few municipalities in Attica that sells a straightforward annual membership for the public tennis court: €80 for ten months if you are a registered resident, €120 if not, with substantial discounts and free categories. It also runs mini tennis for children. Registration is in person only and payment is by card or e-banking only. The confusing part is the address: the municipality gives two different street corners for the same court on two different pages.

1. 1Decide what you want: the tennis court for the public with a ten-month membership, or mini tennis for children aged 5-12 with an eight-month, four-month or monthly membership.
2. 2Go in person to the Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο Μοσχάτου, Μιαούλη 60, Mon-Fri 09:00-20:00, or to the former Tavros town hall during the published hours.
3. 3Take with you a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση) from a cardiologist or general physician, a paediatrician for children, a photocopy of your ID, one small photograph and a photocopy of a utility bill (λογαριασμός ΔΕΚΟ). If you qualify for a discount, also a tax assessment notice or a certificate of low income.
4. 4Pay the fee exclusively by e-banking or at the POS terminal: cash is not accepted.
5. 5If you are re-registering, bring all the documents again. The municipality warns explicitly that this applies to existing members too.

In Agia Varvara the municipal tennis courts are at the upper entrance of the Άλσος Ειρήνης (Irini grove), at the end of Κυκλάδων next to the fountain, and tennis is also included in the municipality's Τμήματα Άθλησης (sports classes). You cannot simply turn up and play, though: the municipality requires a written application with a specific day and time, and the order of priority is decided by the registry number your application receives. Use is granted for a token fee, which however is published nowhere.
