Tennis courts in Hydra
Hydra gained its first Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Αντισφαίρισης (municipal tennis court) in June 2026, in the Αγία Φωτεινή area. It is genuinely municipal and, rare for an island of this size, the municipality has already published a full set of operating regulations with a specific booking procedure: 90-minute slots, up to six hours a week, prepayment by card and a compulsory athlete's card at the entrance. The only thing missing is the price.

How to book a municipal court — Sports Facilities Department (Τμήμα Αθλητικών Εγκαταστάσεων) of the Municipality of Hydra
- 1Call the municipality's Sports Facilities Department (Τμήμα Αθλητικών Εγκαταστάσεων) and ask about an available slot at the new Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Αντισφαίρισης at Αγία Φωτεινή.
- 2Book by one of the methods the regulations allow: online, by telephone, or in person by filling in an application with the responsible official. On the application you must state the names of all the players.
- 3Prepay the fee at the municipal cash desks, through the POS terminal and only by debit or credit card. Without prepayment the booking is not confirmed.
- 4Bring your athlete's card (κάρτα αθλούμενου) with you: entry and exit are strictly on presentation of it.
- 5Note the restrictions: each booking is for 90 minutes and no more than six hours a week per user are allowed. If you do not turn up while the weather allows play, the money is not refunded and the booking is not transferred.

Opening hours
The sports facilities are open Mon-Fri 07:30-22:30, except on public holidays. On Saturdays and Sundays they operate primarily for league matches. During the summer season the opening hours coincide with the statutory quiet hours, given Hydra's particular character as a tourist destination.
What is not published
- — The municipality has not yet published a price list for the tennis court. The regulations provide that the fee will be set by a decision of the Municipal Committee (Δημοτική Επιτροπή), which has not been found published.
- — The special weekly schedule of court use is not included in the posted text of the regulations.
- — No link is published for the online booking the regulations refer to: in practice the telephone or an in-person application is what works.
- — The procedure and documents required to obtain the athlete's card (κάρτα αθλούμενου) are not published.
