Tennis courts in Agia Varvara

In Agia Varvara the municipal tennis courts are at the upper entrance of the Άλσος Ειρήνης (Irini grove), at the end of Κυκλάδων next to the fountain, and tennis is also included in the municipality's Τμήματα Άθλησης (sports classes). You cannot simply turn up and play, though: the municipality requires a written application with a specific day and time, and the order of priority is decided by the registry number your application receives. Use is granted for a token fee, which however is published nowhere.

How to book a municipal court — Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού) of the Municipality of Agia Varvara

  1. 1Send a written application to the Sports Department (Τμήμα Αθλητισμού), at athlitismos@agiavarvara.gr, stating the exact day and time you want to play. You do not simply turn up and play.
  2. 2In the application, declare that you have read the operating regulations of the municipal gyms and sports parks and that you play entirely at your own risk.
  3. 3Priority is decided by the registry number (αριθμός πρωτοκόλλου) your application receives. The Sports Department checks availability and approves or rejects it.
  4. 4For information and for the token fee, call the Sports Department, 07:00-15:00.
  5. 5If you would rather join an organised class, tennis is included in the municipality's Τμήματα Άθλησης: ask on the same numbers or by email.

The Sports Department takes calls and applications 07:00-15:00, at the Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο «Νίκης 2ου Λυκείου».
